Disabling SMTP - install of GroupShield 7.0

If you're upgrading from GroupShield 5.3 to 7.0 you need to make sure you install patch1 and patch2, otherwise you'll have dead mail that cannot be scanned/routed (Had this issue).

As for disabling the SMTP, the domino server/services need to be shut down, you cannot install/upgrade with the server up and running.

There is a newer version of groupshield, it's now called Mcafee Security for email, the version is 7.5. Not sure if you can upgrade from 5.3 though. Here is the link - http://www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/products/content_security_email_web/email/security_email_servers.html
